Psychics & Mediums… Some of Them Aren’t That Medium.

In the wacky world of the supernatural and paranormal there are those people who believe they have a connection to “the other side” and no I don’t mean Canada or Mexico. That’s right, if you have been living under a rock for most of your life, there are people who believe they can communicate to the dead or predict the future. Now how awesome of a superpower would that be to posses that ability? Forget super strength or lightning fast speed, with the ability to talk to the dead and/or predict the future; the possibilities are limitless. Now I know there are people out there who either think those who can either predict the future or talk to the dead are complete scam artists and then there are those people that believe in this gift 100%. Where do I stand on this issue? Well at one point in my life I sided with those who completely believed and then later in my life I turned into one of those who thought they were a complete and total sham. However I sit here today typing my thoughts trying to figure out where I now stand on this topic.

Let’s begin with the name mediums, I have seen these people and I don’t think they have been a medium size in years, but that’s my opinion. The definition of a medium is “someone who serves as an intermediary between the living and the dead”, so essentially these people are what the catholic priests are between you and God, which I have an issue with, but that’s another rant for later. However back to the land of the scam artists aka psychics, these people pray on the innocence of people and their desire to want to talk loved ones who have passed on into the afterlife. This is absolutely disgusting, to want to make money off of people and their fragile emotions. There has never been true evidence that these so called intermediaries between the living and the dead can actually come through with what they promise. Many people have tested these scam artists and each time the scam artists have failed and fallen flat on their faces. To read more into this please check out James Randi and his organization. He puts up one million dollars for anyone with a true gift to take so long as they perform in a controlled environment. And you know what? Not a single one of these people have come forward or been able to successfully get the million dollars. The ones who have TV shows and made tons of cash already say they don’t need to prove themselves…well don’t they have a charity they could donate the money too or wouldn’t they want to put all speculation to rest? I guess not.

As for psychics, they fall in the same realm of mediums and while they don’t claim to talk to the dead they do claim to have the ability to look into the future. Come on now really? All I have to say to that is if you could do that then why have you not played the lottery? Or how come you have never come forward about major events that could have saved peoples lives? I actually asked these and more questions to a few psychics and you know what the typical standard go to answer was…”It is not my place to interfere with fate”. Really? So you can charge $5 for a palm reading or $10 to gaze into your crystal ball and tell me about the future, but you can’t save people’s lives…oh yeah that makes complete sense.

All I ask is that you don’t give into these fakes and phonies, they are only preying upon your weak emotions and don’t really care about your future or your dead relatives. Life is way too short to worry about the past and you have all the time in the world to worry about the future. Live your life to the fullest and you will see that happiness is its own reward…thank you fortune cookie.

Be safe and medium? HA more like extra extra large,

Invasion Of The Giant Monsters (Updated)

When you think of Giant Monsters what is the first thought that comes to you mind, don’t think about it too hard. Just go with you first thought/picture that pops into your head, and am betting that the image looked something like this:
Am I right? More than likely I am, but if you have lived under a rock most of your life, the creature featured above is the infamous Godzilla of Japanese fame. Created from radiation due to nuclear and atomic bomb testing conducted after World War 2 in the effort of being able to compete with the American’s and their weapons program.

If you really think about it, this was the first example of why we need to be eco friendly and stop such destructive natures of nuclear and atomic weaponry. Can you imagine having this giant lizard being a part of the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) or Greenpeace. This sucker could easily take out a whaling ship without batting an eye.
Now I talk about the gigantic lizard like mascot in jest, but if you think about the history of this planet we call earth; there have been many stories of giant monsters walking the earth. Look at the aspect of dragons and even more lifelike…dinosaurs. These suckers were huge and if you believe the stories that the Amazon tribesmen tell to this very day, there are still dinosaurs that exists in the deepest reaches of the Amazon rain forest which are too thick for man to go into. Also there are the stories of the Loch Ness monster in Scotland, Bigfoot in America, Europe & Canada, as well as the American version of the Loch Ness Monster, Champ who lives in Lake Champlain.

While these monsters are up for debate as to whether or not the truly exist it is very interesting that there have been more and more reports of giant monsters being spotted in the world. Again it’s also funny that Japan seems to be a hotbed of giant monsters. While these giants have been seen in various places of the world, it seems Japan is the mecca like magnet for such creatures.
So looking at these Giant Monsters what would you think? I know I am not sure what to think as these things completely baffle me and where they might have come from. Now I know that in the genetic nature of life there are always going to be some sort of anomalies and genetic mutations that result in gigantism. However, if you look and research at bit for yourself you will see that these giants are becoming more and more common in everyday life. It sort of makes you wonder why and more importantly how? Is this a product of evolutionary mutation, is it because of the phantom like global warming sensationalized by Al “I’m an Idiot” Gore, and before you send me hate mail on my comments on global warming I will go into that myth at a later date, doubtful, but again who knows.

I leave it up to you to ponder why these giant creatures have begun to rise up more and more in the culture and existence of our lives. However if I see Godzilla walking into my town, I think I’m just gonna bend over and kiss it goodbye.

Who ya gonna call???… Thomas Edison of Course.

Ladies and gentleman step right and I’ll tell you the tale of a man. A man who created the wizard of Menlo Park, a man who create the light bulb, a man who held over 1,093 patents…a man who could give Dr. Ray Stanz and Egon Spengler a run for their money. That’s right folks I am talking about the one and only ghost hunter/buster himself…Mr. Thomas Edison (and the crowd goes wild).

That’s right, the man who gave us the electric light bulb and motion picture camera, the man who was one of the top inventors of the world was actually dabbling in the world of ghost hunting. Now it wasn’t like the ghost hunting we know of today with the fancy equipment such as EMF detectors, Ovilus, electric voice recorders or FLIR cameras but he was working on a device that would be able to let us, the living, communicate to the dead.

Not many people are aware of this because of their distaste for ghost hunting in the aspect of overly dramatized supposedly real tv shows or they just think is creepy. However Edison was a man always looking to the next thing and that happened to be the Ghost Machine. Now the evidence of such a machine created by Edison to have actually existed is a bit of a mystery as there were no plans or actually machine ever found. Just the faint words of a man, a great man, spoken in an interview to the October 1920 issue of The American Magazine, “I have been at work for some time building an apparatus to see if it is possible for personalities which have left this earth to communicate with us."

Many people speculate that this machine did in fact exist, but has somehow been lost over time. Could this machine been created by such a great inventor and lost over time…anything is possible I would suppose.

However in my opinion, as much as I would love to stumble across the only ghost machine to have been made by Edison I would bet it never made it from his mind into the real world. He was always thinking and creating things in his mind and while some may have been made, some were only written down and sadly to say only some were just thoughts.

Some people think that Edison would never think of creating such a machine yet I present two things to you for your consideration. The first being is that at this time of the world the Spiritualist movement was beginning to hit the Western world so why wouldn’t someone begin to think about communicating with the no longer living. And lets look at the next theory, the fact that when he made this statement he was ten years away from his death, he was a brilliant man who knew his time on earth was limited and maybe he wanted to have a way to still keep inventing even after he had past one into the afterlife.

Be safe and remember it was only a matter of time till he invented cable TV,

Zombie Ants… Cause That’s What We Need.

When you hear the word Zombie it usually conjures up images of slow walking, drooling, brain eating and expressionless faces on the living dead. Now in recent years the whole Zombie epidemic has taken a grip on the modern world and there are quite a number of books, movies and tv shows made in reference to zombies. One of the earliest accounts I remember reading about zombies was in the book the Serpent and the Rainbow about a college professor who took on voodoo priests to see how they created zombies. It turned out through his research that it was a type of drug that would render the person motionless for a period of time and then keep them in a trance like state.
This idea of zombies and ancient voodoo drugs for complete zombie like control seems to not just be for people, but also seems to be able to affect the insect world. In particular I am talking about ants and a certain type of fungus that takes over their minds then their bodies and then when the fungus is done with them it kills them. Essentially this fungus puts the ants into a zombie like state and then uses it for its own purpose till it’s complete.

The fungus Ophiocordyceps unilateralis has in fact been around for millions of years, if you believe the earth is that old, and attacks carpenter ants as they move around the floor of the forest. In fact this fungus could be found almost anywhere, which is scary in itself. As the fungus takes hold of the ants it does it most bizarre damage towards the end of its usage of the ant. The ant will climb to the underside of the leaf it is on and then lock its mandibles into the main vein of the leaf in a type of death grip which locks the fungus into position on the plant.
Scientists who have studied this strange zombie like instance say that the force of the bite into the main vein can actually leave a lasting mark. The fungus uses the ant in order for it to reach the levels of the forest that are best for its growth and process. While scientists do not know the true cause of how the fungus produces such an effect it is clear that this parasitic fungus is a nasty one.

Can you imagine a fungus that takes over our body and mind then controlling your every movement and thought only to kill you once you have served its purpose? That’s a pretty scary though in my opinion and while I have not found any mention of the fungus being able to effect humans I am sure that enough was release on to a person it might just have the same effect.

Be safe and destroy all fungus,

Jon Bolton

UFO “Experts”…how do you get a doctorate in this stuff?

Let me first start off by saying that I am a UFO nut and would love for all these UFO conspiracys to be true as well as to get the chance to tour the real Area 51. Now with me stating that I am willing to believe in some aspect of the sense of UFOs, my concern is with these so called “experts” in the UFO community. I watch the shows on UFOs/Aliens like Ancient Aliens & UFO Hunters, heck I even own all the seasons of UFO Hunters on DVD, but how do you seriously become an “expert” on this stuff???

You watch these programs and read these books that are written by everyday normal people and people who have gotten their PHD. The every day people I am not going to look at because that’s way to easy for me to rip apart. I want to look at these people with a PHD and claiming to be experts. Now when I was going to college, and in fact I am returning back to college, at no time did I see a UFO course listed, not even as an elective. So how does one go about getting their PHD in UFOs, you don’t.  I have friends who have their doctorate in real studies and sciences and they went through years of courses/classes to get that PHD title on their name and they are proud of it and can prove what they say with real science and data. These UFO “PHD Experts” can only take the words of someone who may or may not have been invovled in a “secret” government program focused around reverse engeneering of a downed UFO craft or other “secret”projects. Now while these people may have bad or good intentions with making these stories up, can you really believe them if none of their stories can be backed with actual data???

One guy in the UFO community who is considered to be an “expert” says he worked at Area 51 and had high level securiy clearance and now that he has come out with his story the government is wiping out his physical history with college, work and even his identity. I am not going to give the genteleman’s name out because if this ever got back to him I don’t feel like getting sued, but how can we believe this guy? These is no real evidence other than a simple paycheck stub that can easily be created using a computer and an imagination, in fact identiity theives do it all the time.  So again ther eis nothing to back up how this guy could and should be considered an “expert”.

Now keep in mind I am not picking apart pilots, every day normal people or wackos…I am picking apart those people who claim to an “expert” in something with no real data to back what they are saying. These “experts” listen to what a person says and instead of really investigating it they let their mind wander and run away on a tangent of how it is aliean/ufo related and then it becomes fact in their mind and forced onto the public.

Now here is a thought…what if all these “experts” are actually working for the government in a misinformation campaign to keep the people of the world confused and focusing on something non-existant while they do something else behind the people’s backs. Think about that one you little conspiracy theorists. The government could be paying these people to lie about things they have seen or heard just in the same aspect as you would distract a baby with a shiny object or loud noise to attract their attention before the doctor gives them their shot so it hurts less…oh never thought about that one did you???

The study of UFOs should be based in fact and data, yes I feel that the government is hiding something in the aspect of UFO technology and yes I would love to see if this stuff was real, but I don’t think we will ever see that or know the truth for many many years.  So all we can do is watch the skies and talk to those people who have the same feelings and enthusiasim, but to claim yourself an “expert” on something you can’t back up is pretty weak in my opinion.

Be safe and always have fun,

John Cannon

Be very very quiet…Im hunting Werewolves

Now if you read that title in the voice of Elmer Fudd then you would be correct on how you read it and how I meant for you to read it. Elmer Fudd one of the worlds well known hunters of rabbits and ducks…not I didn’t say successful hunter because we all know that isn’t a true statement. However can you imagine Elmer Fudd hunting Werewolves??? Yeah I know pretty laughable right??? So how do you think you would fare against such a beast as that of a Werewolf. Now I used to hunt, but gave it up because I didn’t feel like waking up early, freezing and then having to clean something I could go ot the butcher and pick-up without less hassle. Now I also have known many hunters and hardcore hunters at that. Some would say they wouldn’t take a chance if in fact a creature of this nature existed, and then I have the others who say they could easily take a Werewolf down.

Now do I believed the few hunter friends I have could take a out a Werewolf??? Maybe one of them, btu as for the rest they would be dog food before they ever knew it. Can you imagine hunting a Werewolf…a creature of epic proportions of a man turning into a superhuman beast??? I know if they were real…and I know there are those who would dispute the reality of Werewolves, but whatever…anyways I would definitely not want to tangle with one. Their power, speed and strength is almost above superhuman and they when it wasn’t a full moon out you would never know who it was. Now they say you can only kill a Werewolf with a silver bullet, but that’s been disputed over the recent years about what can or cannot kill a Werewolf. However that’s not what I brining forth to the public today in this article.

If you think you can take on these big bad beasties then try your luck and fly on over to England…near Birmingham to be more precise…you have the ability to go on a Werewolf hunt. You read that right they offer Werewolf hunting expeditions into the woods on the outskirts of Birmingham, England. Now that particular countryside does in fact have a heavy population of wolves in general, but Werewolves??? Now thankfully they aren’t stupid because they do instruct you on what proper protection to bring with you for this expedition…those items include…sleeping bag, wash kit, wear warm clothes, and be relatively fit to run and crawl…oh and you can’t show up drunk. Ummmm….if Im hunting a Werewolf and I don’t hit him then I want to be drunk so as not to feel the pain as much. Plus if you look at the list they say to bring there is nothing about silver, wooden stakes, traps or any type of real protection…so what are you going to do….study them??? Yeah pass me the flask on that one.

Now if you think I am kidding about this Werewolf hunt check out this link and see that this is in fact a real event…oh and they offer Zombie Hunting/Training events too…wtf …really???

In defense of everything I said I would be interested in heading over to Birmingham to see what it is all about. I wouldn’t mind going out and hunting down a Werewolf…heck they are part human and I bet they would love a drink…so damn the rules I am taking my new friend to the pub.

Be safe and have a pint for me,

T-shirts and Cavemen…is it that simple???

Ancient cultures living in the modern world…tribes untouched by the technical age or modern world still roaming the earth…tribesmen and women living the way they have always been since the Stone Age…essentially a living cavemen and women culture existing to this day in the Philippines. Sounds like something straight from a weekly world newspaper, I guess you’re wondering where and what Batboy is doing now or how Sasquatch birthed babies with the Octomom. Well how about this was in fact a story from one of the highest regarded magazines on nature, people, history and science…I am speaking about no other than National Geographic magazine.

In 1971 National Geographic published a story about a tribe Located in the Philippines on an island called Mindanao. This tribe was called the Tasaday which consisted of about 25 people/tribesmen. They were shown wearing nothing but orchid leaves and using primitive tools…essentially living as cavemen had lived back in the Stone Age. They were a tribe untouched by modern marvels, whether it be technology, science, medicine, etc etc.

Now after the article had been published it was right around the era of Marcos who, not because of the article, shut down access to the Philippines under his rule as dictator. Once he had been removed from power a Swiss Anthropologist visited the island of Mindanao looking for the Tasaday tribe. When the Swiss anthropologist came across the tribe they were in t-shirts, jeans and had apparently embraced the modern world. So from 1971 to 1986, 15 years, they were completely different people, welcome to the modern age.

This was considered one of the greatest hoaxes ever to be committed, now National Geographic not wanting to be considered a publication that published hoaxes and didn’t check what they print came out with their theory. They said that during the time of Marcos shutting down access to the Philippines that the tribe had been brought up to modern standards and that their original story was indeed accurate.

Now I am a fan of National Geographic, but I don’t believe what their explanation was. I guess within 15 years you could bring a tribe up to code in the modern world, but take into the biggest fact of them all…Marcos didn’t care about the poor people of his country. Marcos was a true dictator and was only concerned abut power…ie keeping the poor people poor and not giving them any help or support. So why in the world if he didn’t care about the people just outside his palace gates would he care about brining a Stone age tribe up to modern standards…my theory is that he didn’t. I think National Geographic messed up..they didn’t check the sources and they printed the fanciful article. It’s always easier to dress and place people in Stone Age situations for a nominal price.

There are many hoaxes in this world and this is just one of many that have arisen over time…to me a hoax is just a conspiracy theory that was discovered and proved to be true.

Be safe and wear a concert t-shirt…go Iron Maiden,

The Amber Room…Nazi Mystery once again.

When you mention the word amber to people thoughts of Jurassic Park with the entombed dinosaur dna comes to their mind or just see through rock like material that is really petrified sap. Well whatever you think can you imagine a giant room completely and totally made of this material??? Can’t imagine it…well you should because it existed quite a number of years ago. And now this is one of many WW2 Nazi mysteries as you will soon see as you keep reading.

The Amber room was actually a gift from a Prussian King to a Russian Czar…Czar Peter the Great to be specific sometime in 1716. It was a huge room completely decorated and carved out of amber. By the way this amber was worth over $142 million dollars, that was definitely a lot of money back in those days…heck even for these days unless your names is Bill Gates. Now the gift of this room isn’t the mystery, but what would happen to this room in years later is where the mystery begin.

During WW2 as war ravaged the land and gripped the world in full red alert Hitler was stealing and pillaging as an ancient Viking would do. He would steal works of art and statutes as well a s seeking biblical artifacts to fuel his crazy delusional occult like mind. Now whether or not these relics are real is for another time and another place which we will discuss in the future. What I want to focus on is that of his thievery across the countries he conquered or attempted to conqueror.

The Amber Room was in fact stolen by Hitler and packed up into boxes which were then shipped back to Germany and stored in a castle as one of the many Nazi Treasures to be taken during his reign. Now the mystery begins, you see it was said that the castle in which the Amber Room was kept was bombed and burnt down to the ground. Well that’s all fine and good however Stalin sent his troops in to claim the Amber Room back and he combed each and every inch of that destroyed castle and you know what he found…nothing. He spent many resources and time going through the castle to claim back what was once Russia’s, but no luck. Now sure could the Amber have been burnt in the destruction of the castle…yes…but unlikely since it can burn but still retain that fact that it is Amber. In fact it was said the location of the Amber Room was so hidden that the men who stored it there were all shot by a general just so nobody else could find it…talk about covering up your tracks.

Now there are two theories that are amassed on this legend, one being that the Nazis had moved the amber to another hiding place which is highly likely. The Nazis have hidden a number of treasures all over during war time and even to this day we are finding more and more treasures and secrets from the Nazis. There are businesses dedicated to strictly finding Nazi treasure and some of these are actually backed by governments to reclaim their countries treasures back that were once stolen from there. Now the other theory is that Stalin’s men did in fact find the amber but since it was burnt they said they didn’t in the ever huge propaganda machine to keep the Russian people strongly against the German people. I tend to lean more towards this theory as it has been said the Russian propaganda machine was equal to that of the Germans, but I would love to hear someday that they actually found the Amber Room.

Now these expeditions have found leads and stumbled across other treasures, but they are yet to find the Amber Room. Also death threats have been sent to these people who are trying to find the treasures and the truth, which I think is ridiculous because the truth will set you free what are you so afraid that these expeditions will find?

This is considered the holy grail of nazi treasures…I don’t know about that I would think Hitler getting his hands on the Holy Grail itself would be the holy grail of treasures, but now I’m just being silly. Someday I hope the treasures are found and restitutions are made with the violated countries getting back their countries treasures…plus I like amber and would love to see the room, sorry Im a bit selfish.

Be safe and support fossilization,

Spirit in the skies...love that song or possibly UFOs…really?

When you look in the sky what do you see…airplanes, the sun, moon, stars, birds, superman or UFOs? Throughout history people have claimed to see things in the sky, which would explain our fascination with wanting to go where no man has gone before…space the final frontier. We don’t understand space or anything in it and our curiosity as people drive us to wanting answers of understanding. This may explain why people tend to be so nosy and rubberneck at accidents.

While there are many aspects to the whole UFOs and Ancient Aliens that we can take a look at and pick apart…and believe me in time I will…I will, I want to look at wars in the skies. The Bible, Koran, Bhagavad Gita, Native American texts, Chinese scrolls & in other forms of written text or art there are a number of events chronicling wars in the skies. Now whether these wars are considered that of divine intervention or natural phenomena, the newest approach to these occurrences are that of actual UFO wars…very star wars like. It seems that in all major religions & cultures around the world there is a story in their written text about a war in heaven, in the Bible it is the war that really starts good and evil and subsequently gives Satan power, but this isn’t a Sunday school lesson this is about UFOs. The point is that it seems there is a trend no matter the location in the world there seems to be some sort of “war in the sky” going on.

Now let’s take a look at this logically and with a clear head on our shoulders…the people back in the time of these ancient reports believed that if you were feeling ill in your stomach then there must be a little troll living in you causing you harm. So, all those times I felt ill because of the flu it was actually a small troll in my stomach? Damn, and all my mom did was had me suck on ice and snack on saltine crackers, maybe I should’ve had something a little bit stronger to take care of that problem. Do you see where I am going with this one? What people thought as being one thing back then is easily explained away by science because we now understand about viruses, diseases and immune system. I mean look at the Greeks & Romans they had a God for every little thing that happened. Now in this modern day we understand that there isn’t some maniac God throwing lightning bolts down at us because he is angry…or at least I think there isn’t, but I’ve been wrong before.

In 1561 over Nuremberg, Germany there was supposedly a war in the heavens that was seen by the entire town and was also painted in a semi-famous scene. It was reported that on the morning of April 14th a scene of epic proportions erupted in the sky. The sky was filled with what seemed like different colored disks and crosses. The event was said to have lasted for over an hour and a half and while I research this more and more I find that the actual shapes that were reported vary in many ways and are not consistent, so that’s a red flag to me. They always say there are 3 sides to a story…yours, theirs and the truth.

Now first off when you read about these shapes in the sky couldn’t it be something as simple as sunglares? Do a google image search and check our sunglares, there are a number of different types of sunglares because the human eye sees them so differently. Plus, you know how when you first wake up you have that sand like junk in your eye and your eyes are watery then you take a look at something bright? You see different shapes and things tend to look blurry, well this event happened early in the morning when the sun was rising so wouldn’t it make sense that waking up suddenly to go take a look at something wouldn’t make you see clearly as to what is going on? Ok now why where they woken up suddenly…who knows, maybe some natural explosion, which does happen or maybe it could have been something else. The point I am making is that you can’t always believe what you see, plus as the story gets told over and over again it turns into “whisper down the lane”. You know that kids game where you tell one person one thing and by the time it reaches the 10th person the statement is completely changed. These UFO reports are just in fact that, they are stories passed down from generation to generation…I know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who saw these things in the sky. How reliable of a source is that, it gives you a starting point to look at, but can you take it as an actual fact, I don’t think so. We have the best in picture capture technology in the world today from digital cameras to High definition video cameras and yet we still don’t believe what we see when faced with actual evidence, so why are we trusting a painting and a passed along story?

In closing I would like you to question what you see and hear. Don’t just look at something and go into some full blown wacked out idea in your mind and then claim it a truth without really looking into it. What you may be seeing may have a logical common sense explanation for it, and then once you have researched it and eliminated the junk you will then have what you really saw. Take some time to do the research and you will be rewarded well,  I am sure of that.

Be safe and remember…sunglares kill, actually they don’t,

American Scary: Movie Review

You’re ten years old…its late at night…and you sneak downstairs and flip on the tv. You scroll through the channels looking for that one special show that only comes on late at night. You try and be as quiet as you can so as not to wake your parents and get yelled at for being up past your bedtime. As you go past infomercials and late night wrestling you find what you are looking for…late night horror hosting. Late night horror hosting is as American as apple pie and as scary as the bad b-movies they showed. These unsung heroes of the night bring nothing but the best movies…scratch that…bring you nothing but the best entertainment…ok they are cheesy and campy and the movies they show are just as bad, but we all love them anyways.

American Scary goes into the world of horror hosting and explores its history and some of its classic hosts through the years. People such as Count Gor De Vol, Elvira, Zacherly, etc etc…paved the way for what we see today on public access or the internet. Every state and region of the country has their own late night horror host that shows these bad horror films for the masses.

It shows them having a fellowship for one another and shows what they do in order to put on their shows and how much fun they had doing it and what they could get away with. For a brief period of time I was part of a horror hosting team with Rob Dimension and Sal Valente, and while we have gone our separate ways with other projects I will admit it was a fun time. So I know just what these other hosts are going through as they sit there explain to us the viewers in this film how much fun they have doing what they love to do.

I recommend you go out and check this film out for yourself because even if you’re not a fan of late night horror hosting you will be after this film.

Be safe and stay up late,

Spooked: The Ghosts of Waverly Hills Sanatorium Movie Review

In 2005 a movie called Death Tunnel came out in theatres directed and produced by the Booth Brothers. The movie was about your typical teens go to a supposed haunted place and play pranks on one another however it all turns bad and people die and one lives blah blah blah usual stuff. Now the only way out of this Haunted Hospital was through this Death Tunnel…hence the name what a shocker I know, that used to carry the dead out of the hospital. Now what the movie going audience didn’t know is that this was based off of true events. You see this Death Tunnel was located at Waverly Hills sanatorium located in Kentucky and this shot Waverly Hills into stardom and now has been featured on every single ghost hunting show out there and is seriously immersed into the paranormal culture. This is a place that all paranormal investigators want to go take on.

Now Spooked is not really a making of documentary of the movie Death Tunnel as much as it is really a movie about the paranormal events that took place during the making of the film. It shows and discusses the numerous events we have seen on all the ghost hunting shows out there…shadow people, little girl laughing, moving toys/balls on level floors with no wind, babies and women crying, etc etc etc.

There are parts of this paranormal movie documentary that drag, but it is interesting to hear the stories from the producers, directors, actors and crew of the film. To hear their personal experiences when making this film made you believe that this stuff did in fact happen. These people were pretty much skeptics and stories that had heard about Waverly Hills was from the owners and a couple staff members, but keep in mind this was well before the movie had come out and launched Waverly Hills into the international paranormal stardom that it is currently. So these people could have easily written of the stories and chalked it up to classic fire side stories.
The other thing is they conduct actual interviews with former patients and workers of Waver Hills back when it was a TB hospital. That in itself was interesting to hear and watch as they shared thier experiences as well.

If you haven’t seen this film then I recommend you checking it out and judging for yourself, it’s one of those things that if you are into paranormal then you should watch this film.

Be safe and watch out for TB,

The Hands Resist Him…the temptation to strangle stupid people.

In this world we live, there are many strange things that occur. Things that go bump in the night, things that are unexplained…dogs and cats living together mass hysteria,  sorry had a Ghostbusters moment there. Anyways, I am talking about haunted/cursed items and the stories connected with them. Some famous cursed/haunted items with great notoriety are the Hope Diamond, King Tut’s Tomb & the Poltergeist Movies. Some of you may remember a TV  show by the name of Friday the 13th, not to be connected to the movies in anyway what so ever, but it was a good show and the premise was that an antique dealer made a deal with the devil to sell cursed antiques. The dealer died and so his relatives and a friend went around trying to get the cursed items back that were sold in order to break the curse on them. It seems a bit farfetched, but to this day we still believe in cursed/haunted objects.

The object I am going to investigate is the painting called The Hands Resist Him, which is supposedly haunted/cursed to anyone who gazes upon it. The painting itself, when you first see it, is kind of creepy with a little boy standing in front of a door with hands all pressed upon it while standing next to a doll like little girl with jointed limbs. She stands there holding a dry cell battery, which some people think is a gun, and according to the artist she is actually the little boy’s guide through life while the hands pressed on the door behind the little boy represent paths he may choose in life, not sure how hands equal paths in life, but I’ll go with it for the sake of argument.

Some of the back story of this picture is it was sold on ebay in February of 2000 for over $1000 to an art gallery in Michigan. The gallery in which the painting was first displayed both the owner and the art critic who reviewed the painting died within the same year as one another.  As well, some of the story is that the little boy and girl would come out of the painting at night and cause havoc to those in possession of the painting. And if you gaze upon the painting in real life or even a picture of it on the internet you can get a strange sensation and actually have paranormal activity occur around you.

Now my good friend Jason told me about this little urban legend the other day, as he knows I am very much into debunking these kinds of things, and I felt compelled to do some research and investigate this legend. Now let me say that I am very much into Ghost Hunting and the paranormal, but I like to approach it from a logical common sense aspect and try to debunk and whatever I can’t debunk well then who knows…there may in fact be something to the story.

So I set-up the experiment with my co-host in crime Rob Dimension and we would look at the picture on the internet while having EMF, K2, video and voice recorders going in order to see if we could catch some paranormal activity that is said to accompany the painting. Please check out the video below to see the experiment and any evidence caught:

Now in the debunking of this from a research side is that the artist, from what I can find out about him, was that he wasn’t into witchcraft and did not paint this picture under a distressed fashion. So then why and how did this painting, which is becoming an urban myth, get such a story attached to it? Well as I looked into this a bit more it seems it was for money, gee what a shocker there. The painting was not selling on ebay for awhile and so the seller created such a fascinating story in which to sell the painting and got out and around the internet, and it worked too. In fact if you click this link it will take you to ebays write-up on buying haunted/cursed objects off their site: http://reviews.ebay.com/A-Guide-to-Buying-Haunted-Items_W0QQugidZ10000000000778547

Is this such a despicable thing to do to people in order to generate sales by scamming them into believing something that isn’t true…the answer to this questions is yes, yes it is wrong. However it’s been going on for centuries. During the days after the crucifixion of Christ people would claim to be selling parts of the cross or even the tip of the spear that pierced his side, which can be seen in the British museum. What I’m getting at is that the sale of fake cursed/haunted items is and will always be going on, are there real haunted/cursed items in the world, I believe there are, but you need to be aware of the fakes out there and there are a lot of them. Just do a google search and you can find tons of sites/people selling such items and I doubt there are any true cursed/haunted items because if there are would you really be selling it or just trying to get it away from you as fast as possible? If I had a cursed spatula that would make any food it touched taste burnt and it made the walls of my house bleed I am not going to post a sale for it on ebay and wait for the highest bidder, I’m either taking it to a church to get exorcised or I’m burning it & burying it in the backyard of my neighbor.

It’s amazing how we as people desperately want to believe something is haunted/cursed when nine times out of ten there is a perfectly logical explanation for the events surrounding it. As for that 1% of the time that the object really is haunted/cursed then my suggestion to you is to run…run fast and run far.

Be safe and don’t always believe what you hear.

The Bottomless Pit… and I’m Not Talking About Adam Richman’s Stomach.

The bottomless pit has been a thing of mystery and curiosity for hundreds of years. Could such a pit exist? Of course if one does exists, where? The air of mystery that could surround a hole that seemingly was endless is beyond compare, especially to some people. There are a few stories floating out there in the world that may be reality or just fanciful legend. I guess it really depends what you want to believe.
The first story comes from Russia and it was called the “Well to Hell”. It was a hole that was drilled so deep that it broke through to the underworld of Hell itself. It is said that a nine mile deep hole was dug and then broke through to an extremely hot cavity of the earth. A heat resistant microphone was lowered down into this cavity of the earth and they could hear the flames and screams of those people being eternally torture for the horrible acts they had committed while living. Is this true? Is there such a deep hole in Russia? Is it that extremely hot? Are the screams of the dammed heard?

Well believe it or not some of this story is true, in fact Russia has a deep hole about nine miles located in the Kola Peninsula and not Siberia as the story would have us believe. The hole is in fact nearly eight miles deep and the temperatures have reached 360 degrees Fahrenheit which makes drilling any further extremely expensive. Now time for the screams of the damned part of this story, when drilling they did happen to stumble upon geological anomalies but there were definitely no screams if the damned recorded. So a simple story of great engineering in the aspect of drilling a hole was taken to a legend of supernatural lore.
On a side note leave it to the Christians to take something of legend without properly verifying credentials as proof that Hell exists. Heck it went even as far as to add to the story that a winged bat like creature emerged from the hole and blazed a fire trail across the sky. Now I am a Christian, but even I get annoyed at the blatant disregard for reality that so many seem to have. Plus it was reported by TBN (Trinity Broadcast Network) as real and factual, great journalism there bible thumpers.

Here is a clip of some of the supposed sounds from the hole: http://spi.com.sg/spi_files/soh/main.htm
The next story of a bottomless pit is that of Mel’s Hole located somewhere in Washington state. Now I say somewhere because nobody knows for sure where it is except a man named Mel Waters who may not even exist too. This hole is supposedly deeper than 28 miles and has a diameter of 9 feet. An investigation into the legend and the man by a local news agency came up with that Mel Waters wasn’t listed to live where he said he did in fact they couldn’t find a record of him in general. Plus the location is no where to be found and identified except by this supposed Mel Waters, so the whole thing may just be a urban legend without any type of facts behind it to twist into lore.

The fascination with the bottomless pits have even reached the Simpson’s with Ozzie Smith falling into one during a softball tournament episode. If we look at the fact s of drilling and holes into the earth we can see how these are mere legends of lore and nothing more than that. Physically nothing in this world is limitless, numbers are limitless but not physical matter. If you were to dig a hole through the earth you would just come out the other side, if it were possible. The amount of money and high tech equipment needed to accomplish such a feet would be so spectacular nobody in their right mind would take on such a business venture. Then you would have to go through the center of the earth which is made up of gases and magma so hot and toxic it would kill a person instantly. Don’t believe me? Go jump into a volcano and see how you survive, if you make it out alive I’ll take my statement back because otherwise I’m laying a wreath at your funeral that said I told you so.

Fact of the matter is this, there is no such thing as a bottomless pit. If you want to get science fiction on me and say it’s some sort of a vortex or worm hole then I’m glad to listen to you. Yet may I remind you that even a worm hole has a beginning and a end just as vortex does; that is if we go by basic principal and understanding of said manifestations.

Be safe and watch that last step…it’s a doozy,

Another Zodiac Sign… Does it Really Matter???

Ok now I think I have heard it all and I have heard a lot in my life on this planet. I mean I understand that some people believe in this Zodiac crap and think that there fame and fortune is and has been mapped out by the stars and the way the planets align, but this is getting ridiculous. This is nothing more than a way for people who have the ability to sucker other people in and tell them their fortune based upon the stars, planets and their astrological sign and make tons of cash off of it.

A little while ago it was announced that due to the earths shift there would need to be the inclusion of a brand new zodiac sign. This zodiac sign would be known as Ophiuchus, which means nothing it was created by a man named Stephen Schmidt in 1970. That’s right the same 1970 where peace, free love and drugs ran rampant all of the United States giving rise to the hippie tree hugging movement. Am I shocked that this whole scam was created in the 1970s…nope not at all.
The movement and shift of the earth has been well documented for hundreds of years and going as far back as ancient roman and greek times when astrologers noticed it. So why is it important to release a new zodiac sign to the public today? Well my thought is that the psychic business and the whole fortune teller scams have hit a slump. It has been recorded and studied that the belief in such junk has been on the down slide. So what better way to get the customers back in the door than to redo the entire zodiac table and release it onto the public who really doesn’t care in the first place. Yes I am fully aware that there are those who believe strongly in the Zodiac signs and their meanings, but hose are the people I worry about. Those people are the ones who mind can easily be molded by what a newspaper says or some make believe gypsy tells them is going to happen.

I just feel bad for all those people out there who got zodiac tattoos who now have to have them covered up because some nut cases decided to change the whole zodiac table around.
The main point I’m trying to make is don’t buy into all this zodiac junk, yes it’s fun to see what it says and yes some people can find fun in going to a fortune teller. It’s almost like going to see a freak show in a way, it’s for pure entertainment. And that is all the zodiac and fortune teller junk is…entertainment. There are some people out there who do believe too much into rather than take risks and chances on their own in life without experience new things. You can’t live your life that way, it makes you paranoid on a magnitude so high I don’t even want to know you. Get out there and enjoy life is all I am saying, but if you need an example of someone who believe strongly in the zodiac signs and fortune teller to make decisions juts look at Hitler he was very big into it.

Be safe and experience life,

Hercules vs Karate: Movie Review

In my late night viewing I stumbled across a movie I had never seen let alone heard about. I have to admit it didn’t really appeal to me at first by title and you know the old saying you can’t judge a book by its cover has apparently never seen this film because from the title alone you can guess it’s not going to be a film land classic in most cases. I scrolled through some more movies, but this one kept popping into my mind as whether or not to watch it or not to watch in some Shakespearean type of self-convincement. So I went back looked at the info box and still was undeterred and clicked the play button, what followed next was a movie that defiantly could be judge just by its cover…thanks Netflix for proving the classic words of wisdom wrong.

This movie is considered a slapstick kng fu film and should be more referenced as a slapped together wanna be kung fu film. The lead, Hercules and his friend Danny…who is the only one who apparently knows he is in fact Hercules, are construction workers and are good friends. Now they get into a bar fight at a deli run by a Japanese man and the bar looks like it is in Germany so yeah no clue as to the rhyme or reason on that one. Hercules and Danny get into a bar fight and in the ever popular Hulk Smash style of fighting Hercules just throws guys around as is impervious to pain. The Japanese man hires them to rescue his son form his evil ex-wife…I’m sure a lot of guys have one of these.

They go to Japan they meet some attractive Japanese women who instantly love them, fight the evil kung fu man who kidnapped the baby with the ex-wife and take on his two top fighters, who one is a sumo and the other a samurai. Which is weird because there were two samurai in the beginning, but now only one and we add a sumo wrestler, no clue. They all fight and Danny gets beat up a bit but Hercules has zero trouble and beats everyone and in fact later on hold s plane while its trying to take off…how these people haven’t figured out he is Hercules is a classic as people not knowing Clark Kent is Superman just because he wears glasses. Then somehow special cherries come into the mix, which came out of nowhere and was never mentioned, but Hercules ad the little boy eat them only to find out they had pearls in them…so the swallowed the cherries whole? Whole swallows cherries whole and doesn’t check for pits…so do not understand this movie.

Now Hercules is a man who looks a lot like Grizzly Adams and has the mentality of a middle school student. He is very kind hearted and nonchalant and is willing to be helpful…his only weakness is alcohol…there is a shocker for most people of this world that alcohol can impede a person’s perspective and ability.

Ill be honest I don’t even remember the end of the film because I started to carve a pumpkin and this was one of those background noise movies. From what I saw if you wanted something to just completely numb you and just watch for the sake of watching like Santa Conqueors the Martians then watch this film because it will not disappoint on that level.

This falls right in line with the multitude of cheesy kung fu films out there again even through Hercules never did any kung fu. The one thing is that the English voices match nicely with the Asian actors yet the English voices do not match Danny or Hercules…I really don’t get what happened with that one. I say watch and be prepared to laugh and be a bit confused, because it is one of those films to do just that.

Be safe and I guess Hercules is immortal,
Jon Bolton

PS...I tried putting a trailer at the end of this review and YouTube doesnt have one, they have dogs farting silent night, btu not a trailer for this movie...go figure, lol
